First snow in Chantilly

We had our first snowfall of the year today! It began just as Drew brought the Christmas tree home, so it was a perfect beginning to our holiday preparations. The kids had a great time playing outside as the snow fell. It probably won't stick, but it's still pretty!

Firewood galore!

Daddy and Cameron had fun this afternoon putting some firewood in the new log rack. As you can see, we probably have enough firewood to last us through 2011. Anybody like maple or oak? ;)

Taylor's first violin!

Following our trip to the Maryland Renaissance Festival, Drew and Shauna decided to take advantage of the toddler-free time and purchase Taylor's first violin. She has since started lessons at school and really loves it!!

Maryland Renaissance Festival

Drew, Shauna and Taylor enjoyed a (very hot!!) day out at the Maryland Renaissance Festival in September. It just happened to be "Scottish Celebration" weekend - very appropriate!

Cameron's first soccer game

Cameron is a member of the "Black Bats", a U5 soccer team with the Chantilly Youth Association. He's had a few games thus far (most of which Mom has missed due to class on Saturdays), but he has improved quite a bit. Here are some pictures from his first game - Enjoy!

Playing in the sprinkler

Way back in August (yes, I know I'm a bit behind), the kids had a great time playing in the sprinkler. Drew set up the sprinkler in the grassy area next to the house (to the left as your looking at the front door), and they spent the next hour running back and forth and getting thoroughly soaked. Cameron and Brandon kept sitting on top of the water as it turned in their direction, while Taylor stood by and laughed.

What a great way to spend a hot summer day!

The Hunt for Sanity Begins...

Welcome to our blog! We have been posting pictures from our various family adventures on Picasa for quite awhile. However, I finally decided that it was time to actually include some of the stories that inspired the pictures that we share with friends and family.

Quick update: Drew has been fending off the employers vying for his talent, while Shauna has been very busy with work and school. Taylor is doing very well in 4th grade; she loves her violin lessons and field hockey practices! Cameron is having a great time in kindergarten and is turning into quite the artist (I'll try to get pictures of his recent works up sometime this weekend). Brandon was having some difficulties in his old day care but seems to be thriving in his new class.

I hope to update this on a regular basis, but with our schedules, that may be a bit of a reach! Until then, we wish you all the best!
